About DNUK

DNUK was formed in 1996 in Greater Manchester, United Kingdom. Our aim from the start was to sell direct to the end user with dnuk.com being the focal point of our business.

DNUK is one of the UK's leading suppliers of workstations, servers and storage systems designed and optimised for the GNU/Linux based operating systems. From scientific to e-commerce applications, our products can be used as building blocks to create complete solutions. We've been building Linux computers since September 1998.

Do It Direct

When you buy from DNUK there are no costly intermediaries such as resellers or retailers adding their margin to your purchase. You buy direct from us, the manufacturer.

You Order 'Em, We Build 'Em

Every system we sell is built to order. Our customers get exactly, and only, what they want. Each of our systems can be configured on dnuk.com in hundreds of different ways.

With our low stock inventory, our customers always get the best price possible. The latest relevant technology is introduced in our product lines much more quickly than through slow-moving indirect distribution channels.

Technology That Works

We build our systems for reliability first. It's as simple as that. The latest and greatest computers with lot's of features are completely useless if they break down. All our systems feature a 3 year warranty as standard.

DNUK And GNU/Linux

We were one of the first companies in the UK to offer computer systems designed for the GNU/Linux based operating systems. We started selling GNU/Linux workstations and servers in 1998. In fact, every system in our range is designed from the ground up to run GNU/Linux based operating systems. To run it fast and to run it reliably. Our commitment to GNU/Linux includes:

  • Qualifying our entire product range for Linux kernel compatibility
  • Always offering free GNU/Linux distributions as well as paid for distributions
  • Offering all the major GNU/Linux distributions on our product range

Alternatives To The "Wintel" Platform

Our established AMD Athlon and Opteron systems offer a real alternative to the traditional Windows and Intel platform. For high end computing, the 64-bit AMD Opteron offers superior performance than the 32-bit Intel Xeon but at substantially lower prices.

The DNUK Advantage

  • We currently offer all the major GNU/Linux distributions on our systems; including Debian, Fedora, Mandrake, Red Hat, Slackware, SuSE and White Box
  • Unlike other system builders we offer all GNU/Linux distributions at no charge with our systems and we also sell the retail boxed products as an option
  • We can offer a degree of customisation for our customers that the large OEMs simply cannot match
  • We pride ourselves on our customer support - all our technicians are experienced with GNU/Linux support
  • Customers can communicate directly with the very same technicians that built their systems
  • We do not use offshore support departments in India!

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide our customers with the most reliable computer systems available. We will meet customer expectations of:

  • Highest quality
  • Leading technology
  • Competitive pricing
  • Individual and company accountability
  • Best-in-class service and support
  • Flexible customisation capability
  • Financial stability
